Bin Valet Return & Refund Policy

1) Services, not physical goods

Bin Valet is a subscription service (weekly bin valet visits billed monthly). We don’t sell physical goods, so there are no returns or exchanges.

2) 2-Week Free Trial

All plans include a 14-day free trial for new customers (the “Trial Period”).

• During the Trial Period, you will be charged $0.

• You must provide a valid payment method at signup (your payment details are stored securely by Shopify).

• Your Trial Period is limited to one per household/service address (we can refuse or cancel repeat trials).

Trial length: 14 days from signup or up to two scheduled service visits, whichever happens first.

3) What happens after the trial

Unless you cancel before the Trial Period ends, your subscription automatically converts to a paid monthly subscription and your first monthly charge will be processed on the first billing date after the trial.

4) Cancelling during the trial (no charge)

You can cancel anytime during the trial.
To avoid the first paid charge, cancel before 11:59pm NZ time on the final day of your Trial Period.

5) Refunds (general rule)

After your first paid billing, we do not offer partial-month refunds or refunds for unused portions of a billing period, unless required by New Zealand law.

6) Billing errors

If you believe you were charged incorrectly (duplicate charge, wrong plan, charged after cancelling correctly), contact us within 7 days and we’ll investigate. If it’s our error, we’ll refund or credit you.

7) Missed / skipped visits

A weekly visit is not refundable if we can’t complete it due to reasons outside our control, including:

• locked gate / no access

• unsafe conditions (dogs loose, hazards, construction)

• bins blocked in / bins not available

• severe weather/emergency events

• council disruptions (missed pickup, route changes, strikes)

If we miss a visit due to our fault, we’ll make reasonable efforts to re-service or provide a make-good.

8) NZ consumer rights

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under New Zealand consumer law.
